What we do:
Our consultation process provides a rigorous, science-based evaluation of your land and management practices, along with a clear strategy for improving ecological function, productivity, and resilience. The process begins with an email and phone intake interview to understand your goals, property conditions, and management questions before the visit.
We then conduct a full-day, on-site visit to assess your operation. During the visit, you will tour the property with Dale while we evaluate key factors such as vegetation, soil health, water management, fertility needs, fencing systems, animal integration, insect populations, pasture condition, and seeding opportunities. Species composition and pasture function are assessed in relation to your goals. If appropriate, we may recommend forage sampling, sap testing, or soil testing to better understand fertility and pH conditions.
Consultants complete preparation prior to the visit and typically spend four or more hours touring the operation, followed by a discussion of preliminary observations. After the visit, we develop a comprehensive written action plan for your operation—typically about 150 pages—that outlines practical recommendations and step-by-step strategies tailored to your land and goals. A phone or virtual follow-up meeting is then held to review your action plan and answer any questions as you begin implementing the recommendations.
